The remains of the three persons who passed away due to the sudden burst of water pipelines in NEEPCO’s Kupli Hydro-Electric Project at 5 Kilo of Dima Hasao District of Assam was recovered today.
The three persons include 2 senior officers of Kupli Hydro-Electric Project of NEEPCO who lost their lives after they were washed away in the flood of water from the dam.
The deceased are identified as Jayanta Hazarika, Manager of the Civil Branch, Anupam Saikia, Deputy Manager (Civil)
and Dimaraj Johri, a contractual employee of NEEPCO.
It is said that these three persons went to close the floodgates of the dam.
As per reports, it is said that repair work on this place was being carried out due to the heavy rainfall in parts of Meghalaya which had flooded the dam.
