Jowai: The counting of votes for the Dolloi Election for Elaka Shangpung and Elaka Nartiang which was held today the 25th of March,2022 went off smoothly. The counting of votes was held in MDC Hostel, Ïawmusiang Jowai and began from 9:30 AM.
From Elaka Shangpung which completed the counting first, the Joint Secretary &Returning Officer Dolloiship Election, Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), Hatmin Lyngdoh Giri declared that Chanki Langbang who secured 5560 votes as the winner and elected as the Dolloi of Elaka Shangpung, defeating Daeiladmi Sungoh who secured 2720 votes and Harising Papang who secured only 194 votes, while there were 220 invalid votes for Elaka Shangpung.
Chanki Langbang while speaking with media persons expressed his gratitude to all the residents of the Elaka who supported him from the time he was elected as Acting Dolloi in Elaka Shangpung. Langbang said that he will continue to serve for the welfare of the Elaka as a whole.
