Shillong, March 09: The Chief Executive Member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council, Titosstarwell Chyne distributed certificates of recognition to 13 Khasi traditional medicine practitioners.
The distribution of the certificates of recognition by the KHADC has been done following the implementation of the Act known as The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Protection and Promotion of Khasi Traditional Medicine Act,2011.
Speaking to media persons, Chyne stated that there were about a hundred traditional medicine practitioners who applied for certification but after thorough evaluation and scrutiny of the stipulated regulations, it was concluded that at present, in this first step, only 13 traditional medicine practitioners can receive the certification, however, the CEM has requested the others who did not receive the certification to kindly provide the necessary requirements as per the stipulated regulations.
