THE CHIEF MINISTER OF MEGHALAYA, CONRAD KONGKAL SANGMA YESTERDAY INAUGURATED THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED, ÏEW DORBAR SHNONG MALKI IN KHARMALKI

In the presence of 16- East Shillong MLA, Dr.M Ampareen Lyngdoh, MDC, Fantin J.Lakadong, the Rangbah Shnong, Prodin Kharmudai, the Secretary Shnong,Miquel Badwar, the Rangbah Dongs, members of the Dorbar Shnong and the 25 allottees to whom these shops have been alloted to by the Shnong.

The Chief Minister in his speech delivered on this occasion said that this is a project that shall remain memorable and meaningful in society and will herald in more changes in the growth and development that the public of the locality expect while also stating that the construction of these shops has been a blessing as well for the locality for they have been built over a big drain which flows through the locality, used by many people to dump their garbage into and with the construction of these shops, the disposal of garbage into the river will be stopped and result in better health for all.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister has encouraged the Dorbar Shnong of Malki as well as the public residents to come forward and work for the welfare and good changes in the locality and for the state as a whole.

The local MLA, Dr.M.Ampareen Lyngdoh expressed to the Chief Minister that as an MLA, she has an aim to specially construct one building for the residents of Malki especially the poor and needy and those without a roof over their heads, and she said that through this new project, she is confident that it will be a reality if the people have an understanding and accept the aim.

On this day, the Chief Minister handed over the keys of the shops to the 25 people who will open shop and sell their goods in this new market in Kharmalki.
