SHILLONG, February 10: The Minister in the State Government and also President of the PDF, Banteidor Lyngdoh said that if the Government and the Hynñiewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) take collectively responsibility, the intended peace talk is highly expected to become a reality this time unlike in the past when it ended before the desired result was achieved.
Banteidor Lyngdoh who had also been a former member of the HNLC expressed great joy at the steps taken by the leaders of the militant outfit, the right and best step for peace and harmony as well as law and order to prevail again in the state especially in the Khasi-Jaintia Hills where they operate prominently.
He said that the coming forward of the HNLC in proposing a peace talk will be of great benefit for the public especially to live together again as one society. He said that the only importance now is for the Government and also the HNLC to take utmost responsibility to ensure that this time the intended move becomes a reality.
Lyngdoh said that from his end, he will urge upon the fellow Ministers in the Government and also the MLA as well to also take the responsibility to speed up the process and to finally appoint an interlocutor so that peace and harmony can be witnessed again in the State.
