CONRAD DENIES LAW AND ORDER SITUATION IN SHILLONG AFFECTED BY CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES

SHILLONG, February 07: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkal Sangma said that from one or two incidents, one cannot say that the State’s law and order situation has been affected while also stating that such incidents or criminal activities do usually happen but it is necessary to control and keep a check on them. Sangma further stated that it is wrong to say that there has been an effect in the law and order situation of the state from a few incidents.

It may be pointed that within a week, Shillong has witnessed many violent incidents including the IED bomb blast in Khyndailad on the 30th of January and on Saturday, the 5th of February where unidentified robbers created much fear by looting two petrol pumps in Shillong while armed with an AK gun.

On being asked, the Chief Minister said that such incidents should not happen at all and if there are criminal activities, it is necessary to apprehend the persons involved and it is also necessary keep a check on all criminal activities and added that the Government is trying it’s best to curb such incidents from happening again.
