SHILLONG, February 02: The Chief Whip of the Opposition in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly who is also the MLA of All India Trinamool Congress from Umroi, George B.Lyngdoh said that the inefficient Intelligence Department of the Government is the reason for the resurgence of militancy as a result of which the State has witnessed many bomb blasts in the past few months.
George Lyngdoh who took over as Chief Whip yesterday strongly rebuked the claims of the Government that they have been successful in stopping such incidents by 99 percent and that the failure in preventing one incident does not mean that the Intelligence Department should be criticized, by stating that in the one time that they have failed, if there are deaths and injuries, who will take the responsibility, and if there have been 99 percent tries to plant bombs then it means that the state is not entirely safe and secured.
