BLACK FLAG DEMONSTRATION & BOYCOTT OF 50 YEARS OF STATEHOOD CELEBRATION AS LONG AS THE GOVERNMENT REMAINS SILENT BY ADHOC TEACHERS

HEADLINES

The leaders of the Adhoc Teachers Associations in the state from 4 categories which include Lower Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary under the banner of the Federation of All School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM) on the 14th of January, 2022, announced that they will lead an agitation from the 17th to the 20th of this month and on the 21st they will organise a Black Flag Demonstration if the Government does not call them for a discussion on their long pending demands. The Government has served them with empty promises and their demands yet unfulfilled to the point that they have not even been called to have a talk on them.

The Black Flag Demonstration is in part to boycott the 50 Years of Statehood celebration of the Government which has not paid heed or show any regard to their requests for the welfare of Adhoc teachers in the state who have suffered for many years with meagre salaries in the present day inflation which has caused them to face difficulties in running their household, expressed Kenneth Shadap, the President of FASTOM along with representatives of these 4 categories of adhoc teachers. The agitation on the given dates will start from 11:00 AM and continue till 4:00 PM with further plan of action to be decided after the 21st of the Government continues to remain silent and does not call them for a talk.
