Mawkyrwat, August 31: After two days since the kidnapping of a 13 year old girl from a village in South West Khasi Hills District, the Mawkyrwat police effortlessly rescued the girl from the accused.
According to reports from the Superintendent of Police, South West Khasi Hills District, B.J Laloo, MPS said that after getting information about the kidnapping, the police set up a special team led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crime) to find and free the girl. On 31/8/2021, the team along with the help of the Border Security Force (BSF) found the kidnapper along with the girl from Maheskola village, South Garo Hills District which shares it’s borders with South West Khasi Hills District.
The SP said that the kidnapper who is identified as Mohibul Ali (29 years old) and was reported to be from Kantapara, Golpara, Assam was arrested by the police under the 363 IPC and the girl was brought back to her family.
It may be pointed out that this kidnapping of the 13 year old girl happened on the 28th of August, 2021 (Saturday) at around 8PM and on the 29th of August, 2021, the family went and reported the matter at the Nonghyllam Police Station, South West Khasi Hills District.
Further investigation on this kidnapping is going on.
