SHILLONG, February 16: Home Minister of Meghalaya, Lahkmen Rymbui said that the Government is fighting hard to eradicate the menace of drugs in the State while stating that it is not only Assam or Meghalaya that are working towards the eradication of the drug menace, but the whole country is working collectively to reach the goal of completely eradicating the drugs menace.
It may be reminded that the Assam Police had apprehended two Nigeria nationals in Assam who are allegedly drugs peddlers and from whose possessions 20 grams of cocaine was seized from the railway station and the drugs was meant to be transported to Shillong.
Responding to a query, Rymbui said that the State Police have from time to time arrested persons involved in the trade of contraband substances and many such kinds of substances have also been seized as is done by Assam State or any other state as well to free the region from drug menace and also to protect the region from becoming a pathway for drug sellers.
