GOVERNMENT IN THE PROCESS OF DELIBERATING OVER 3 CONTENDERS TO TAKE OVER AS DGP OF MEGHALAYA

SHILLONG, February 16: The Home Minister of Meghalaya,Lahkmen Rymbui said that the Government will take some more time in appointing the Director General of Police (DGP) of Meghalaya while also informing that the UPSC has forwarded 3 names to take over as the new Director General of Police in Meghalaya.

He said that the Government as yet has not taken any decision but will first examine thoroughly all aspects before finalizing on an officer who can work in the State by selecting the best from the 3 contenders that the UPSC has forwarded as the best selection is required for the benefit of the State.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has forwarded 3 names to the State Government for consideration as the next Director of Police(DGP) and these include Special Director General of Police (DGP) of Assam, Lajja Ram Bishnoi,IPS(1991 batch), Special DGP of Assam Police, Mukesh Agary,IPS(1989 batch) and K.V.Singh Deo,IPS(1989 batch).
