The Union Ministry of Education has invited applications for the post of Vice-Chancellor at North-Eastern Hill University amid ongoing calls for leadership change from sections of the university’s stakeholders.
The online application process has begun through the SAMARTH portal. According to the eligibility criteria, applicants must possess at least 10 years of experience in academics or research administration.
The selected Vice-Chancellor will serve as the academic and administrative head of the university and will receive a monthly salary of Rs 2.1 lakh along with other admissible allowances.
The recruitment process comes at a time when various groups associated with NEHU have been demanding reforms and a change in the institution’s leadership.
