SHILLONG, May 30: After Retired Justice T.Vaiphei who headed the enquiry committee on the gunning of former HNLC leader submitted the enquiry report to the Government on the 20th of this month, the family members of (Late) Cherish Starfield Thangkhiew expressed that they want the Government to make the enquiry report public and to also to give them a copy of the enquiry report.
It can also be expressed that the Government has not said anything on the findings of the enquiry, but the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K.Sangma said that the report will first be studied in detailed by the Political Department of the Government.
Granary Starfield Thangkhiew, younger brother of (Late) Cherish Starfield Thangkhiew said that as a family, they will wait for the decision of the Government on the report, and expressed an expectation for justice to be served.
He said that from the family’s end they will submit an appeal with the Government to urge for a copy of the report be given to them to speed up the process of judgement.
With regards to this enquiry, many groups and organisations have put up a demand that the Government must make the report of the enquiry that has been completed public.
