At about 8:00 AM today the 9th of June, one truck bearing registration number WB 41 G 6998 en route to Silchar collided with another truck bearing registration number NL 01 AE 3329 coming from the opposite side of the Shillong Bypass road. In this accident, the driver of the truck en route to Silchar identified as S.K.Saraf died on the spot while the handyman, Sarif Hussain sustained minor injuries.
As per reports it was said that this truck bearing registration number WB 41 G 6998 rammed into another small vehicle bearing registration number ML05 Y 0439, and also hit another woman who was passing by on the road, Khandi Rabha, 66 years of age who had to be taken to Civil Hospital,Shillong due to her injuries, however, it was later informed that she too passed away due to the severity of her injuries.
The damaged cars have been shifted and the road has been cleared while the investigation process is ongoing.
