The body of Ishaque Ali Khan Panna, a leader of the Awami League party in Bangladesh, was repatriated today by Indian authorities at the Tamabil border. The body, which was in a decomposed state, was discovered in a betel nut plantation in the Dona Bhoi area of East Jaintia Hills, approximately 1.5 kilometers from the India-Bangladesh border.
This follows a series of violent incidents in Bangladesh, where around 29 bodies of Awami League leaders and their family members were found in various locations. These events unfolded after Sheikh Hasina was forced to flee to India and relinquish her position as Prime Minister amid escalating protests that have gripped the country.
