Auto drivers and owners from the Nongpoh area today expressed their anger and strongly condemned the President of the Nongpoh Region Auto Owners and Drivers Association (NRAODA), Bah Marcus Marten, after he failed to clarify their demands. The demands were put forth by the auto drivers and owners in Nongpoh.
To recap, the group of auto owners and drivers from Nongpoh recently demanded a public meeting to address their grievances and to elect new office bearers. They gave the association 10 days to respond, but the President failed to provide any clarification. After this, they extended the deadline by another five days. On this day, the President called a meeting with the auto drivers to clarify the issues.
Speaking to the media, the group seeking clarification strongly criticized Bah Markus Marten, the association’s President, for calling them to the street for a discussion. They expressed dissatisfaction as they did not receive any clarification and claimed that the President abruptly left the scene without providing the answers they were seeking.
Additionally, they condemned the President for opposing a security check on auto drivers that was conducted by the Nongpoh Unit. This check was carried out following complaints from the public, including FIRs, regarding criminal activities such as the kidnapping of children, which had led the police to conduct inspections of auto drivers in recent months.
