Authorities have announced the temporary closure of the Laitlyngkot–Lyngkyrdem stretch on the Shillong-Dawki road for all vehicular movement from 7:00 AM on May 17 to 7:00 AM on May 20, 2026.
The closure has been imposed in the interest of public safety to facilitate construction activities, excavation work, and the movement of heavy machinery along the route.
Commuters have been advised to use alternative routes via Pynursla-Dawki-Amlarem and Pynursla-Nongjri-Sohra during the closure period. Authorities have urged the public to cooperate and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
