Shillong: The Meghalaya government on Monday felicitated the Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by SP (City) Herbert Kharkongor for its efficiency in solving the murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi.
The felicitation programme was held at the Police Headquarters in Shillong in the presence of Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home, Prestone Tynsong, who lauded the efforts of the police team.
Those honoured included SP (City) Herbert Kharkongor, Sohra OC Anthony Khongsit, along with other members of the SIT.
It may be recalled that Meghalaya Police had arrested Sonam Raghuvanshi, the wife of the deceased, for her involvement in the murder, along with her associates from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Raja was murdered in May 2025 at a parking lot along the cliffside in Weisawdong.
