SHILLONG, May 24: The leader of the Opposition in the State, Dr.Mukul Sangma strongly condemned the harassment faced by the public of Malangkona area at the mercy of the Assam, and said that the two State Governments must take responsibility by talking about removing these problems so that the public are not daunted by fear and agony.
Dr.Mukul Sangma who is also a former Chief Minister of Meghalaya said that in 2010, an agreement had been reached from both sides that the public shall not be harassed so that the local public residents can be free from fear and anxiety.
He said that what had happened yesterday at the border of Malongkona area should be prevented from happening again, especially in breaking the laws passed by the Parliament pertaining especially to the protection of the tribal and minority population and also in respecting human rights.
