Shillong: One woman has filed a rape complaint at the Laitumkhrah Police Station, implicating two young men in the alleged assault.
The incident reportedly occurred yesterday in Malki, with the complaint lodged also lodged yesterday night.
On Saturday, the Laitumkhrah Police apprehended one of the accused, 19-year-old Andy Malngiang.
However, the second suspect, Kitbok Reuben Mawthoh, remains at large and a search operation is currently underway by the city police to locate him.
Malngiang has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days under Sections 351(3) and 70(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) of 2023.
