Shillong: The office of the Syiem of Hima Mylliem has issued an order warning against overnight stays and the use of Ïewduh as a place for gambling. According to the order issued by the Syiem, all shops in Ïewduh must close by 10 PM.
This order was issued after the Dorbar of Hima Mylliem observed that, despite repeated announcements, some people continue to defy the rules and use shops, lodges, and godowns in Ïewduh for overnight stays, gambling, and illegal liquor sales.
Therefore, the Dorbar of Syiem Hima Mylliem, out of concern and responsibility for maintaining order in Ïewduh, has issued this order, which takes effect immediately. The Syiem also directed all shop owners to register their shops and lodges, whether they are rented out or used personally, and to report the types of goods they sell so that the office of Hima can regulate them accordingly.
