SHILLONG, April 25: The President of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) said that what decision is to be taken by the All India Congress Committee against the 5 suspended MLAs, the MPCC is not in the know, but the party in the State has move ahead to longer recognise the 5 MLAs.
He said that the MPCC has taken the 5 suspended MLAs as no longer members of the Congress, and said that the party has already announced other candidates in the constituencies of the 5 MLAs.
The 5 MLAs of the Congress on the 8th of February submitted a letter with the Chief Minister of Meghalaya expressing their unconditional support to the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) led by the NPP in which the BJP besides other parties and independent MLAs are coalition partners.
On being queried today, Pala said that the 5 suspended MLAs have not responded to the show case notice of the party, and the party has also informed Delhi which has a Disciplinary Action Committee, and probably in the next coming two weeks, they will take a decision.
As per the statement of Pala, the AICC has already revoked the CLP leadership of the MLA from East Shillong, Ampareen Lyngdoh.
The 5 suspended MLAs of the Congress include Mohendro Rapsang,MLA of West Shillong, Mayralborn Syiem,MLA of Nongpoh, Ampareen Lyngdoh, MLA of East Shillong,P.T.Sawkmie, MLA of Mawlai and Kimfa S.Marbaniang, MLA of Rambrai-Jyrngam.
