Shillong: On September 18, 2024, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed at Sadar Police Station concerning an armed robbery that occurred on September 14. The complainant reported being ambushed by three individuals on scooters near Little Blossom School after closing his shop. The assailants brandished weapons and threatened him, while another person arrived with a metal rod. The group proceeded to rob him of ₹10,200 from his day’s sales.
Following an investigation, two suspects, Max Eric Syiemlieh (25) and Melvin Tongwah (22), were arrested on September 20. Both suspects are also implicated in an attempted robbery at a café on September 16, during which they assaulted a person.
The police are continuing the investigation to track down the remaining suspects involved in both crimes
