Each year,with the very first rain of the year, the fishes in Umïam river die in thousands. This is due to the sudden flow of dirty toxic water from Umkhrah river and Umshyrpi river.
This time a few youths specially went to watch this phenomenon and witnessed with their own eyes the damage to the environment due to the extreme toxicity of the rivers from the city which caused the fishes in Umïam river to die.
It is truly sad if we are not careful about these toxic rivers from the city for they may cause the extinction of many living things under water and on the banks of the Umïam river.
