Three Stolen Bikes Intercepted by Mawsynram Police; Two Arrested

Mawsynram Police Station, during a routine checking operation today, intercepted three stolen motorcycles, two of which were reported stolen from Shillong and one from Assam. The operation escalated when one of the riders attempted to evade the checkpoint, leading to a high-speed chase. The suspect abandoned the bike and fled on foot, leaving the stolen vehicle behind. The recovered bikes were identified as Bike No. AS19 N 8664, ML 05AD 3852, and ML05 AE 1218. Two individuals, identified as Shri Sengku M Marak (24) and Shri Cornalius Mukhim (18), were arrested in connection with the stolen vehicles. Police have initiated an investigation to trace the origin of the bikes and identify other potential suspects. Efforts are also underway to locate the individual who fled during the operation.
