SHILLONG, May 17: The leader of the Opposition in Meghalaya who is also an MLA of the all India Trinamool Congress (AITC), Dr.Mukul Sangma slammed the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) Government led by the NPP by stating that the Government wants to resolve the boundary dispute by force.

He said that the voice of opposition resonates loud yet the MLAs in the Government have accepted to not revisit or look at the matter again which means that they are stuck and have been bullied by Assam, and the Chief Minister of Meghalaya does not have any means of taking any action and his duty now is to only make the MLAs in the Government agree to it, and this is done in the Coordination Committee of the MDA.

He said that the Chief Minister has succeeded in silencing the MLAs in the Government, but even as all the 48 have agreed, yet the public of the State and the Opposition will not accept and will demand to re-examine the matter in a proper manner.

On the statement made by Conrad K.Sangma that the resolution of the border issue has been done as per the report and documents handed over by the Government in 2011, Dr.Mukul Sangma posed the questions on whether the reports and documents recommended the division of the area in half with Assam, and who asked him (Conrad Sangma) to divide the area in half.
