Shillong: Congress leader and Mylliem MLA, Bah Ronnie V Lyngdoh, has expressed concern over the rising prices of essential commodities, describing it as a serious issue affecting the common people. Speaking on the matter, he emphasized that while street protests may not always lead to solutions, they are justified if specifically focused on addressing price hikes.
Lyngdoh highlighted that the Congress party has been advocating for the implementation of a Minimum Support Price (MSP) to support both farmers and the general public, calling it a necessary step to ease the burden on citizens.
Commenting on the recent street protests organized by the VPP, he stated that such protests are valid if directly aimed at resolving the issue of rising prices. However, he cautioned that the effectiveness of street protests depends on the specific context and intentions behind them.
