Shillong: Baluk R. Blah, son of late Dr. DD Lapang, remembered his father as a man who never pampered his children but instead instilled in them the values of hard work, humility, and love for others. Speaking ahead of the state funeral, Baluk said his father always taught that true success comes from perseverance, modesty, and service to the community.
He informed that Dr. Lapang’s mortal remains will be laid to rest with full state honours on September 15 at Student Field, Jaiaw, Shillong. Dr. Lapang, one of Meghalaya’s most prominent political leaders and a five-time Chief Minister, passed away on Friday evening at the age of 96.
