Deputy Chief Minister and NPP leader, Shri Sniawbhalang Dhar, expressed confidence that the momentum of the Voice of the People Party (VPP) will not last, asserting that the National People’s Party (NPP) is well-prepared for the upcoming MDC elections in February 2025.
Speaking to the media, Shri Dhar stated that the NPP is finalizing its list of candidates, which will be announced before Christmas or early in the new year. He also affirmed that the NPP, even if short of numbers, would collaborate with other parties to form the Executive Committee (EC) in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).
When asked about the performance of the VPP, Shri Dhar remarked that he has seen no substantial work or achievements from the party so far. He emphasized that under the leadership of the NPP, the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government has successfully delivered numerous developmental projects across the state.
