Rifiness Warjri, a student and NCC member from St Anthony’s College, Shillong, announced her plans to embark on a one-month intensive training program starting October 21, 2024, as part of her preparation for climbing Mount Everest.
Speaking to the media, Rifiness shared that the training will take place at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) in Darjeeling and will cover the basics of mountaineering. This will be followed by further training sessions before she begins her expedition.
Rifiness, known for her bravery and determination, previously scaled Mount Abi, standing at 7,355 meters. She encourages other young individuals to follow their dreams, emphasizing that anything is possible with dedication.
The aspiring mountaineer hails from Laitkor Kynton-U-Mon, Lawbah Snait, and is currently pursuing a BSc in Botany at St Anthony’s College.
