Prof. Sherwin May Sungoh has rejected the appointment as Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Shillong Campus by Vice Chancellor Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla.
She stated that she did not even receive the official copy of the appointment, only a PDF file sent via WhatsApp by the Assistant Registrar.
Prof. Sungoh added that she does not accept the position and fully supports the student movement, emphasizing that she does not want to be a mere figurehead.
She reaffirmed her commitment to the students’ demands and stated that she stands with them in their ongoing efforts for change.
