In a move to enhance tourism in the State of Meghalaya, the state government launched a demo-seaplane operation at Umiam Lake.
The initiative, expected to attract more tourists and promote water-based activities in the region, was inaugurated by Union Minister of Civil Aviation, R. Naidu Kinjarapu, alongside Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Thursday.
The seaplane operations will be managed by SpiceJet, with the aircraft provided by De Havilland Aircraft of Canada.
