Shillong: In a major breakthrough, the police of East Khasi Hills District arrested 4 persons from Assam suspected of being involved in looting petrol pumps based on complaints filed in Khliehriat PS Case.
As per the statement issued by the police, it was said that after the matter was pursued for quite some time, they found information on the people involved and continued to pursue the matter on these 4 persons.
After a thorough following up, the police got the information of one of the hideouts of these 4 persons, which they raided for two days, on the 11th and 12th of this month.
The arrest of these 4 persons was made through the information relayed by a few persons in Rynsong Shylla near Umlawang village in East Jaiñtia Hills that they were there.
After credible information was received,the police went and raided this place and from there arrested Shri Jotish Daimary,43 years, Sansoma Mooshahary, 32 years, Shankar Boro, 35 years, Bipul Basumatary, 37 years and Fajal Haque, 33 years from Guwahati.
In the search conducted in the hideout of these 3 persons, the police seized one AK-47,14 bullets for AK-47, one machete, a two-wheeler bearing registration number AS 27 D 2482.
Following the investigation of the police, all these four persons confessed to being involved in looting petrol pumps in Shillong, Ri-Bhoi and till the time of this report, further investigation on the four by the police is continuing.
