The Positive Energy Art Foundation (PEAF), in collaboration with Earth Gallery, organized an art exhibition showcasing hand-drawn artworks by talented artists from Meghalaya. The event, held at the HDFC Bank Hall in Laitumkhrah, aimed to highlight the artistic prowess of local creators.
Frederick Roy Kharkongor, Principal Secretary of the Arts and Culture Department, graced the occasion as the chief guest, accompanied by Dr. Prakash Jha, Director of PEAF, and Shankar Jha, Director of NIFT. The exhibition, attended by several artists and art enthusiasts, provided a platform to promote Meghalaya’s vibrant culture through visual arts.
In his speech, Kharkongor expressed delight at being part of the initiative, emphasizing the importance of encouraging talented artists in the region. He also reassured continued support from the Arts and Culture Department for future artistic endeavors.
Souvenirs were presented to all participating artists, along with the chief guest, as a mark of appreciation. The exhibition is seen as a significant step in boosting local talent and bringing Meghalaya’s cultural richness to the forefront through art.
