HEADLINES

The Opposition in the Parliament today barged out while the sessions in both the houses of Parliament, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, were still in progress. This happened after the Central Government announced the hike in the prices of crude oil and LPG Cylinder in all over the country.

The political parties such as the TMC, NCP, DMK, Left Party and the Congress demanded the Government to retain the old prices.

The Government hiked the prices of petrol and diesel by 0.80 paisa and the price of an LPG cylinder was hiked by ₹50.

The leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge said that this hike in the prices will result in a profit for the Modi Government of ₹10000 crores from the sweat and toil of the public.

He also said that after India is due to get crude oil from Russia at a cheaper rate,it should have reduced the prices but instead the Modi Government has hiked it two times over especially the price LPG cylinder by ₹50.

This move of the Government led to the intense anger of the Opposition in the Parliament.
