SHILLONG, August 04: The National People’s Party has claimed that the East Shillong seat in the MLA Election of 2023 is 100% an NPP seat. This was expressed by the National Vice President of the NPP, Prestone Tynsong at the gathering held to welcome Malcolm Tariang into the party and also approval and confirmation of the NPP Block of East Shillong.
Malcolm Tariang was welcomed to the NPP by the National President, Conrad K. Sangma in the presence also of the National Vice President and other forefront leaders of the party.
Speaking at the gathering Conrad K.Sangma expressed happiness at Tariang joining the party because he is a seasoned and stable leader because in the past 15-20 years it had been extremely difficult to convince Tariang.
Speaking at the gathering Prestone Tynsong said that the seat from East Shillong is guaranteed in 2023 to be an NPP seat with Malcolm Tariang joining the party 1 and he also said that in Shillong City which has 7 constituencies, the aim is to win in all the 7 seats.
The joining of Congress supporters to the NPP from East Shillong made Prestone Tynsong say that the new name of the Congress Block Committee is now the NPP Block in this constituency.
