Scientist from Delhi reach Nongstoiñ to train the farmers
The College of Agriculture,CAU(I), Kyrdemkulai, Meghalaya and Nongstoiñ College in collaboration with NECTAR Shillong, IRRI Phillipines, NABARD,Shillong, ICAR IIVR Varanasi, ICAR CICR Nagpur and IUOA Shillong Meghalaya today held a gathering for the farmers in Nongstoiñ College known as “Farmer Innovation Expo-2022, Integrated Agriculture for Rural Bio-Enterpreneurship and Livelihood Security”.
In the gathering, Macmilan Byrsat, MLA of Nongstoiñ constituency as Chief Guest was present with the scientists including Prof. Dinabandhu Sahoo, Director, Centre for Himalayan Studies, University of Delhi, New Delhi, Dr.M.S.Behera, Principal Scientist, ICAR-Central Research Institute on Jute and Allied Fibres, Barrackpore West Bengal, Dr.U.K Behera,Dean CoA Kyrdemkulai CAU, Meghalaya and Chairman FIE, 2022, Dr.I Mawthoh, Principal Nongstoiñ College among others.
The gathering is also in part as a sign to inaugurate the special training for the farmers of the area, in which hundreds of farmers participated in the programme which will continue from the 13th of June,2022 to the 15th of June, 2022.
In this day the dignitaries also distributed several equipments to all the farmers who came to participate in the gathering including farming tools, utensils , rice seeds, vegetable seeds, chicks and other necessary items used by farmers.
