Shillong, Nov 1 — Mawlai SC sealed their place in the semifinals of the SSA Super Cup 2025 after a dramatic penalty shootout win over Sawmer SC following a pulsating 3-3 draw at the SSA Stadium, Polo.
Both sides displayed tremendous fighting spirit in one of the most thrilling matches of the tournament. Sawmer matched Mawlai stride for stride, forcing the game into penalties after an intense six-goal showdown. Mawlai, however, kept their composure from the spot to clinch victory and book their semifinal berth.
Banrap Pyngrope of Mawlai SC, who put in a commanding performance throughout the match, was named T7 Player of the Match for his exceptional display and received a memento and cheque from the organisers.
