Shillong: The Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) Central Body met on Thursday met the Cabinet Minister, Dr. M Ampareen Lyngdoh to seek her intervention on the sudden closure of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) Examination Centre at Jowai.
The JSU has stated that with the closure of this Examination centre has affected the jobs aspirants of Jaiñtia Hills District.
The JSU has also demanded that the government to re-function the Examination Centre as it will be convenient for the jobs aspirants from the district.
“With the Examination Centre at Jowai, it would reduce travel expenses and save time for candidates who would otherwise have to travel to the capital city for the exam”, said JSU president.
However, the Minister has not given any assurance but said she will take up the matter with the Chief Minister.
