Lahkmen Rymbui, Minister incharge of the Home Department in Meghalaya, said the police had no idea drugs were being sold openly in Shillong and in market places.
In regards to yesterday’s raid on Polo market, where drugs were seized and more than 30 drug peddlers were arrested, he said that the police promptly conducted a raid there after receiving the information and arrested those involved.
Further, he said that the police will not forgive drug dealers and will take necessary legal action against them, and that the fight against drugs has begun in the State, and that the police are doing everything they can to eradicate drugs completely and to punish those involved in drug trade and selling
