SHILLONG, May 06: The Government is currently preparing the affidavit to be presented before the High Court of Meghalaya with regards to the implementation of the roster system as per the reservation policy.
The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkal Sangma informed that the Cabinet Ministers have discussed the matter in detailed , and expressed that it is not easy to prepare a roster which has not been implemented or followed for many years, while also stating that this is a complicated matter and it is not easy to resolve or put it in order within a few days or weeks.
He said that resolving this matter is going to be difficult, but the Government has moved ahead with the preparation of the affidavit to be submitted before the High Court, and expressed that he does not want to speak much with regard to this matter, until the time the Government has sent the written response to the Court as clarification.
It may reminded that the High Court of Meghalaya on the 5th of April, 2022 issued an order to the State Government to stay all recruitment processes in different departments until further notice. This order of the High Court of Meghalaya was issued as a result of the absence of a roster system as per the reservation policy.
