Shillong: After the strong criticisms against his friend who is also a member of the same party, A.L Hek said that in the BJP, the relationship amongst all the members is on the basis of the saying, “No leaving, no fighting but only loving”.
The statement of A.L Hek, BJP MLA from Pynthorumkhrah constituency is on the basis that he had come forward to strongly condemn the rash action of BJP MLA from South Shillong who is also a Minister in the present MDA Government, Sanbor Shullai during the support seeking visit of the BJP Presidential candidate, Droupadi Murmu on the 6th of July at Orchid.
The rash action or interruption by Sanbor Shullai was during the time when the leader of the UDP who is also the Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly and President of the UDP was speaking on a few issues such as atrocities on Christians, the need to include the Khasi and Garo language in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution amongst others.
During his speech, it was alleged that out of nowhere, suddenly Shullai began interrupting him which angered many MLAs and also the office bearers of the UDP who expressed their annoyance to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K.Sangma who is also the Chairman of the coalition MDA Government.
In response to the query if there is any sign of a divide in the party after this condemnation of the action of Shullai, Hek refused to speak on the matter.
