Tura MP and former Gambegre MLA expressed concern that the public in Gambegre had been misled during the recent by-elections, as politicians failed to address their issues once the elections were over. He remarked that many political parties had only engaged with voters during the election period, but afterward, there was no follow-up on the challenges faced by the people.
He criticized parties for making empty promises, stating that after the votes were cast, the voters would be abandoned. The Congress leader emphasized that elections should not be seen as battles between political parties, but rather as a reflection of the people’s trust in the candidates who promise to serve the constituency.
He further added that voters should not focus on the party labels but instead on the leadership qualities and vision of the candidates. He pointed out that the contest in Gambegre should not be viewed as a fight between the NPP, TMC, or Congress, but rather as a decision by the people on which leader and party can secure a better future for the constituency.
