Education Minister orders correction of errors in CM Impact Guide Book

HEADLINES

Shillong: Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui has directed officials to correct the mistakes found in the CM Impact Guide Book, a study material recently distributed to Class X students.

Clarifying the purpose of the publication, Rymbui said the CM Impact book was not meant to help students in attaining the “pass exams”, but rather to assist them with useful information and guidance that can improve their preparation.

Speaking to the media, the minister said, that if there are any errors, it is the responsibility of those involved in preparing the book to make the necessary corrections. I have only just received this information, but I will take immediate steps to ensure that the mistakes are rectified.

He further emphasised that CM Impact is not the only material used for teaching, as schools cover all subjects as per the prescribed curriculum. However, he maintained that if mistakes exist, it is the duty of the Education Department and the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) to correct them.

It may be recalled that Kular Khongjirem, a senior teacher of KJP Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Shillong, had recently raised concerns about several incorrect answers printed in the CM Impact guidebook distributed to Class X students. According to him, some of the answers did not correspond with the questions, potentially misleading students preparing for their upcoming board examinations.
