Shillong: Synod College, Shillong, held its Convocation Ceremony on Monday afternoon, marking a proud moment for its postgraduate students.
The ceremony, was graced by Mayralborn Syiem, MLA of Nongpoh constituency, as the Chief Guest.
The event celebrated the academic achievements of around 60 postgraduate students from the Departments of Education and Political Science, who successfully completed their Master’s degree programmes. Among the graduates, two students from the Department of Education were specially honoured for securing the 4th and 5th positions in the recently declared NEHU postgraduate results.
A special highlight of the ceremony was the release of a commemorative book featuring scholarly papers and research presentations from the two-day National Seminar-cum-29th North East India Education Society (NEIES) Conference, hosted by Synod College on April 3 and 4, 2025. The seminar was held under the theme “Empowering Education for a Developed India.”
The publication serves as a compilation of academic insights and research shared during the conference, reflecting Synod College’s continued commitment to academic excellence, intellectual engagement, and quality higher education.
The convocation not only recognised the hard work and success of the graduates but also underscored the college’s role in nurturing knowledge, critical thinking, and leadership among students.
