In quite a bizarre incident,one dumper truck bearing registration number plate ML04 7896 which was being towed by a towing truck in Byrnihat as it broken down and was required to be towed to the workshop for repair, suddenly caught on fire and burnt down the front portion and the engine completely moments after it reached the NH36 highway in 11 Mile village, but with the quick response of the public and the driver, the fire was put out before it could complete burn down the truck.
As per the statement of the driver, it was said that the truck belongs to a person from Shillong and the sudden fire must have been a result of a wiring malfunction.
