SHILLONG, February 26: The police today fished out a dead body of an elderly man from Wahumkhrah flowing through parts of Mawlai Phudmuri, Dainkuna and it is suspected that the person fell into the river in the late hours of the night.
The sprawling dead body on the banks of the river was first seen by residents staying across the river from Jaiaw Umpohliew and immediately informed the local administrators in Mawlai who then informed the same to the police. The dead body was fished out by the police of Mawlai Police Station to complete all necessary formalities.
