SHILLONG, July 13: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K.Sangma announced a revamp of processes in the departments of health, education and also the police in the State. The Chief Minister announced this at the conference of DCs and SPs which was held in Shillong.
Speaking with media persons after the two conferences ended, Conrad Sangma said that in the conference of the Deputy Commissioners, they had discussed in detailed on the matter of providing better service to the public to provide all the necessary requirements especially in places which have been left abandoned be it health care facilities, schools, C&RD Blocks or Police Stations.
He said all the Blocks in the State will get new office buildings and the fund allocation will be about Rs.120 crores, and the process for this aim will be started in August this year. He also informed that the Government will renovate the 1800 Government LP schools which will be done at the district levels for which about Rs.3-4 lakhs will be allocated for each school and this renovation work will also be carried out for PHCs, CHCs and Sub-Centres which will be processed through the DRDA.
Furthermore he said that the police department will also see a few minor renovation work in the department offices and others which will be processed through the DRDA, while for the headquarter office, the process will be as stipulated regulations. He also said that the Government will provide new vehicles and computers to all 76 police stations, crane vehicles and ambulances in districts where accidents are frequent.
He said for Shillong City where traffic congestion is frequent, 60 two-wheelers will be given to ensure law and order in commuting.
