Shillong: The Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Smti.R.V Suchiang on Friday inaugurated the Nationwide Emergency Response System (NERS)/ Emergency Response Support System (ERSS)/ Dial 112 at a gathering held at Sadar Police Station,Shillong with Smti.I.Nongrang, Special Director General of Police, Meghalaya and Shri.Cyril.V.D Diengdoh, Secretary,Home(Police) also being present at the inauguration.
In Meghalaya, the State Government through the Home Department bought 8 Maruti Eccos and these vehicles as well as 12 other vehicles have been chosen in part to start the forward movement of this operation. The vehicles will be allocated for every district in the State with East Khasi Hills-4, West Khasi Hills-1, Ri-Bhoi-2, East Jaintia Hills-1,West Jaintia Hills-2, Eastern West Khasi Hills-1, South West Khasi Hills-1,North Garo Hills-1,East Garo Hills-2, West Garo Hills-3, South West Garo Hills-1 and South Garo Hills-1.
