Shillong: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkal Sangma today unveiled the commemorative artistic mural crafted in front of the State Central Library gate and at the same time he also flagged off the Museum on Wheels in the compound of the State Central Library in the presence of the Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Prestone Tynsong, Minister of Arts and Culture Department, Sanbor Shullai,the Chief Secretary, R.V.Suchiang, Principal Secretary,Dr.P.Shakil Ahammed, Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, Isawanda Laloo and Commissioner & Secretary, Arts and Culture, Frederick Roy Kharkongor.
The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Department of Arts and Culture for bringing these beautifully crafted mural on the natural beauty of the state which will also serve as a spot that attracts many tourists.
On this day, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya informed that the process of revamping the auditoriums in Tura,Jowai and other districts as well has moved forward very smoothly, and the Shillong International Centre of Performing Arts and Culture (SICPAC) in Mawdiangdiang is almost complete.
The Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister and the Minister of the Arts and Culture Department also released books on the journey that led to the achievement of a full-fledged state and the function was made more lively by performances from famous bands and singers of the state.
